Abby has a big girl bed!

Abigail graduated to a toddler bed today. I am hoping she stays in it...not likely, especially since she ends up on our floor every night. We are passing our crib to Scott and Clarissa and their soon to be born baby, Asher. I am a bit sad my baby is growing up, but there's no keeping her tiny and it sure is fun to watch her change and enjoy life!

Summer is almost over!! What!!! Take... it... Back!!

Okay,  so we mother's of many find the end of Summer bittersweet.  Am I right?  We have loved the lack of schedule, particularly kids sleeping in til 8!  Can I get a Yee Haw! Fresh Fruit, sunshine on a fairly consistent basis, fairs, camp trips, fun camps, swimming, tree climbing, hikes, oh how the list goes on and on.  Love it all!  But then there is that part of you that could use a little peace and quiet during the day.  Naptimes for mom are an option again (Or is that just me?) The house stays a bit cleaner.  The kitchen definitely stays closed for a bit.  This list could go on and on too.  Oh how conflicted we feel, right?  As the end of this summer approaches I am finding myself more sad than happy.  My kids are getting older and more helpful so it is not as overwhelming to have them home.  I made the mistake of counting how many summers I have left with all my kids still at home and I only have 6!  Yikes, breaks my heart a little bit!  I love being outside and having adventures with my family. I just need to make sure and do it all year long!  Summers are wonderful, but I for one am so grateful our family gets to keep making memories together forever :)

Summer Fun!

Spent the day at Alderbrook Park. Such a fun place! Swimming, paddle boats, petting zoo, bouncy houses, train, lemonade fountains...the list goes on.  Summer paradise for my kids :)

Family trip to the Clark County Fair

Miss Abby with ponytails

Checking out all of the chickens

Adyson-growing up too fast

The girls were excited to ride

Getting strapped in

Abby was so excited to ride the train...then she was a little scared.
My husband loves the fair even more than our kids!  He gets more excited to see the animals than any of us.  I think he could easily have been a farmer.  We went on a quiet evening and had so much fun petting all of the animals, letting the kids ride some fun rides, and getting funnel cakes!

Attempting to make a funny picture :)
The kids and I went and met up with my friend Anna and her family to go camping at the beach.  I had just gotten back from our other family trips and girls camp and I was going it alone.  Rick couldn't miss any more work.  It was a bit tiring, but the kids had a blast playing on the beach.  We went into town for chowder at Cannon Beach, and we skim boarded and had a bonfire on the beach.  So Fun!
