Easter!

It is so fun to celebrate Easter!  We love our traditions and having family time.  The kids love hunting for their baskets, decorating eggs and easter egg hunts.  We love the focus on Heavenly Father's plan and the Savior.  It brings light and peace into our home.  I feel so blessed to have been given this sweet family to learn and grow with.  Life is good!

Adyson was pretty excited when she found her basket!

Rick was pretty tired haha!

Once Abby figured out what she was looking for she was pretty pumped :)

Funny how only half of them are dressed for church...

Eggs!

Another basket picture.

The kids decorated cupcakes with Nana. Super cute!

Adyson is 12

I say this all of the time, but time flies!!  I am really trying to embrace it, but sometimes it is a little heartbreaking to see my children get closer to leaving my care.  You would think that with 5 of them I wouldn't give that as much thought to that reality, but allowing time to go by and letting go of babies and childhood is a big trial of mine.  Adyson is such a joy to watch grow up.  She is so independent and responsible.  She is such a high achiever and loves to be involved in everything!  She is so helpful and such a great example to her siblings.  A few of her favorite things are-Spicy meatball pasta, Reading-I cannot keep enough books around for her, running, soccer-she is great at both! She enjoys piano and trumpet and loves to be in leadership.  She loves arts and crafts too and is great at drawing. We love her so much and treasure her influence on both her family and all those who know her. I took her out to get some make up for the first time and got her eyebrows waxed too.  Big girl stuff! On her birthday we went with her brother, Grandpa and Grandma Dyer and her friend, Sydney Ogata's Family to do baptism's for the first time at the Portland Temple.  It was so fun to have her so excited to go.  It was her only request for her 12th birthday and she had been planning it for over a year.

At the temple in front of the fountain.

Cute kids!

It was a late night...and a school night :)

Cute goodie baskets at her party.

We had a cupcake decorating war.

Presents!

All grown up!

My trumpet player, Adyson

Adyson has become quite the trumpet player.  They had a solo ensemble where they practice a piece and go get an evaluation from a professional musician.  She was accompanied by her band teacher on piano, but she was super nervous.  She did great!  Both the evaluator and her teacher were so impressed with her.  I find it funny that she picked the trumpet.  I never told her that I had played that same instrument, but she came home in 5th grade and told me that out of all the instruments to pick from, she wanted to play the trumpet.  I find her personality to be the most like mine in so many ways so I guess it makes sense that she chose it :)

Getting ready to play!
